Auckland Zinefest is a celebration of creativity and self-publishing, based in Tāmaki Makaurau Aotearoa. We’re a local hub for zine culture, organising community events and activities that share and support DIY-publishing in Auckland and beyond.

Festival of Design Aotearoa is a national festival celebrating how design shapes life in New Zealand and beyond, from the streets we walk to the systems we rely on and the stories we tell.

The 10-day event will be anchored in Whanganui – Aotearoa's UNESCO City of Design – and extend to Palmerston North, bringing together designers, technologists, businesses and communities.

Across both cities, galleries, theatres, public spaces and unexpected locations will come alive. Each city connects through a festival hub, linking people, ideas and everyday spaces through creativity and light.

It's a festival where big ideas meet everyday life, inviting everyone, from practising designers to the simply curious, to see, test and co-create the future of design in Aotearoa.

A celebration of all things games, bringing together tabletop games, role-playing, trading cards and more for a day of play, discovery and community. Hosted by the Cancer Society of New Zealand, Games Fair raises funds to support people affected by cancer while bringing gamers and game makers together.

Every year we stage over 200 public events, gathering over 220 of the world’s best writers and thinkers to celebrate the world of books and ideas. For the past 24 years the Festival has enriched the culture of our city and established itself as a major Australasian festival, characterised not only by the calibre of our guest authors but also by the enthusiasm and engagement of our audience and the warmth and welcome provided by Auckland as our setting.

The Festival brings the very best local and international writers of contemporary fiction and non-fiction, scientists, economists, poets, journalists and thinkers together with audiences to explore ideas, share stories and experience brilliant conversations. We celebrate curiosity and a sense of intellectual adventure and our programme is driven by the desire to spark ideas, to get us talking and to give us a time and place to engage with the world.

A celebration of the book as an object of design, bringing together independent publishers, designers, artists and book lovers.
