This Imperfect Light brings together 31 years of poetry by Ben Brown with 12 illustrations by the late artist Bill Hammond. Published by Dead Bird Books, the collection gathers 80 poems across four sections, bringing together two distinct bodies of work in a publication shaped by storytelling, contemplation and Hammond’s distinctive imagery.
Printed in A5 on 100gsm Advance Laser White, the book combines black-and-white text with 24 pages of colour reproduction. The cover is printed CMYK on 300gsm Crescendo White and finished with a matt laminate for a clean, tactile finish. The printed bookblocks were supplied to Book Binding Press in Auckland for quality PUR binding with a 7mm hinge.
